NCP Refuses MoS Post, Demands Cabinet Berth for Praful Patel

During a recent meeting with Amit Shah, JP Nadda, and Rajnath Singh, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) discussed the reasons for their defeat in the Lok Sabha elections and raised the issue of securing a Cabinet berth for Praful Patel. Sharad Pawar, addressing the media, stated, “We got a message later from the BJP that they are offering an MoS (Minister of State) with independent charge. Since Patel was a Cabinet minister earlier, it did not feel good to accept the offer.”

Pawar further elaborated, “We informed them (BJP) that this was not acceptable and they responded by saying that MoS positions are being given to parties with more MPs than us, so we cannot be accommodated. We conveyed that in a few months, we would have two more MPs in the Rajya Sabha and therefore, we should be given a Cabinet berth. We are willing to wait until a Cabinet berth is granted.”
