### BJP Swearing-In Ceremony in Odisha Postponed to June 12; Rajnath Singh and Bhupendra Yadav Appointed as Observers
As preparations for the swearing-in ceremony of the BJP government in Odisha continue, Union ministers Rajnath Singh and Bhupendra Yadav have been appointed as observers to oversee the legislative party meeting to elect the chief minister. “At 11 am on Monday, there will be a legislative party meeting in Bhubaneshwar. Most likely, the central observers will be reaching on Monday morning,” said Jaynarayan Mishra, former leader of the opposition and BJP MLA. The swearing-in ceremony, initially planned for June 10, has been shifted to June 12 to ensure the availability of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior leaders for the event at the Janta Maidan in Bhubaneshwar.
Party sources suggest that the BJP might adopt the formula of one chief minister and two deputy chief ministers, as it has done in some other states. However, despite securing a clear majority in the Odisha assembly polls, the suspense remains over who will be the new chief minister. State BJP leader and MLA Suresh Pujari was called to New Delhi for a meeting with the central leadership, sparking speculation that he might be in the race for the CM position. Pujari, however, denied the rumors, stating, “All this is media speculation. I have already said that whatever decision the party takes will be acceptable to all the leaders and workers.”
Sources also indicated that the new government would ensure a balance of representation between Western and Coastal Odisha.
