Impact of Sanatan Dharma on Global Politics Discussed at 122nd Thinkers’ Club Webinar

Bhubaneswar, June 2:
The Thinkers’ Club, in its 5th year of intellectual discourse, held its 122nd web-based meeting on Sunday, delving into the “Impact of Sanatan Dharma on Global Politics.” The session focused on the universal values enshrined in Sanatani Hindu Dharma and its growing influence on global political thought.

Engineer Ravi Kumar, a senior overseas functionary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), graced the session as the Chief Speaker. In his address, he emphasized the centenary celebrations and founding principles of the RSS while elaborating on how Sanatani values—such as universal brotherhood, peace, and spiritual inclusivity—are shaping ideologies across the globe, often subtly influencing world leaders and decision-makers.

Mr. Kumar pointed out, “While many belief systems aggressively seek to expand their following through unchecked conversions, Sanatan Dharma uniquely stands for peace, harmony, and coexistence. Our ancient sages have always preached—‘Sarve Santu Niramayah, Sarve Sukhino Bhavantu’—a prayer for the well-being and happiness of all living beings.”

The event included an engaging interactive session, where participants raised questions on practical implementation of Sanatani ideals in politics. In response, Mr. Kumar advised that rather than merely proposing ideas, individuals should actively engage in political processes to realize meaningful change.

The session was moderated by Sri Barada Prasanna Das, President of the Thinkers’ Club, who conveyed the sentiments of RSS workers globally on the organization’s 100-year journey of service and nation-building.

Prominent intellectuals including Dr. Nanda Nandan Das, Prof. Umashankar Misra, Pratap Rout, and Sarbeswar Behera discussed the relevance of Sanatan Dharma in contemporary society and its philosophical underpinnings in the RSS’s social initiatives.

Distinguished personalities like Prof. Madhusudan Das, Padmaja Devata, Prof. Kamala Mohapatra, Biswaranjan, and Sasmita Panigrahi also attended the session. The webinar attracted a large number of viewers on YouTube, indicating significant public interest in the topic.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to the Chief Speaker, the President, and all participants, marking yet another successful chapter in the Thinkers’ Club’s commitment to fostering meaningful dialogue on India’s civilizational values.
