The 103rd session of the Thinkers’ Club, held over the Zoom platform, explored a topic that resonates with many: the control of the mind. Presided over by Mr. Barada Das, the President of the Club, the meeting featured Ms. B.K. Savitri from the Prajapati Brahma Kumari Ashram in Bangalore as the chief speaker.
Sister Savitri emphasized that all human activities are controlled by the mind, a complex and dynamic organ influenced by a person’s knowledge, experiences, and practices. She noted that the mind is never dormant, constantly engaging in thoughts that can be either beneficial or detrimental. Therefore, it is crucial to direct the mind’s capacity toward positive and productive activities. She advocated for the development of positive thinking through practices such as “Dhyan” (meditation) and yoga. Sister Savitri also stressed the importance of contentment and cheerfulness in maintaining a balanced mind and demonstrated some basic principles of Dhyan for the participants.
Mr. Barada Prasanna Das reiterated the significance of controlling the mind, asserting that it is key to success in any field. He highlighted that individuals who struggle to concentrate on their activities and professions often fail to achieve their goals.
The meeting was initiated by Ms. B.K. Supriya, who outlined the scope of the discussion and concluded by offering a vote of thanks to the participants, the President, and the Chief Speaker.
Notable participants in the discussion included Mr. Subash Sahoo from Bahrain, Dr. Rajat Satpathy from Madhya Pradesh, Nimai Swain from Bhubaneswar, Panchanan Mohanty from Bihar, Pratap Rout from Raigarh in Chhattisgarh, Mr. Raghabendra from Bangalore, and Prof. Umasankar Misra from Cuttack.
