Odisha Government to Probe Alleged Irregularities in BJD Office Land Allotment

Amidst allegations of irregularities in the land allotment for the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) party office, ‘Sankha Bhawan’, in Bhubaneswar, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari announced that the state government will conduct a thorough investigation into the matter and take strong action against those found guilty.

Sankha Bhawan, located in the Unit VI area of the city, was built on 1.183 acres of land spanning four plots. The land was leased to the BJD during the previous government, and allegations suggest that it was provided at a significantly lower price than its market value. The minister assured that all aspects, including any changes to the land’s Kissam and the price at which it was allotted, will be probed.

However, the BJD has dismissed the allegations, stating that there were no irregularities in the lease deed and construction of Sankha Bhawan. The party claims that the price was fixed by the government as per benchmark value and that the conservancy lane between the two quarters was provided as institutional residency as per the Orissa Government Land Settlement Act.
Odisha Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari announced that the state government will investigate allegations of irregularities in the allotment of land for the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) party office, Sankha Bhawan, in Bhubaneswar. The BJD, however, denied any wrongdoing, stating that the land was allotted as per benchmark value norms and that a total of Rs 13 crore was paid

The investigation is expected to uncover the truth behind the allegations and ensure accountability for any wrongdoing.
