Bhadrak, 3 July 2025:
A free health check-up camp and tree plantation program was successfully organized by MAYANIDRA Foundation at its Branch Office in Madhusudanpur, Arnapal, under Bhadrak district. The event was held in collaboration with Jehoovah Groups, Sahid Nagar, Bhubaneswar and Citizens’ Human Rights Clinic, Odisha, under the able leadership of Delhi-based doctor, Dr. Srikanta Barik.

The health camp was supported by Cardiologist Dr. Nirmal Panda and Gynecologist Dr. Sudeshna Nayak. The program witnessed the presence of several eminent personalities, including Dr. Gopabandhu Mallick, IPS (Retd.), former Director of Investigation, OHRC, Odisha; Mr. Nrushingha Nath Nanda, CMD of Jehoovah Groups; Prof. Niranjan Barik, former Professor of Political Science, Ravenshaw University; Mr. Basanta Kumar Dash, retired bank officer; Mr. Laxmikanta Rout, former Headmaster & President Medal awardee; Dr. Sudarshan Barik, former Political Science Reader and District Child & Women Welfare Officer, Bhadrak; Mr. Badal Kishore Mohapatra, former Headmaster and Rotarian; along with social activists Mr. Sarit Nayak, Mr. Basanta Barik, Mr. Rajendra Parida, journalist Mr. Narendra Samal, and Dhusuri Press Club President Santosh Dash and Secretary Diptiranjan Nayak.

Inaugurating the camp, Dr. Srikanta Barik, former Director of Central Government Health Services (CGHS) and founder of Mayanidra Foundation, highlighted that villagers often face health challenges due to limited access to healthcare, poor sanitation, irregular food habits, modern lifestyle changes, and lack of awareness. In fond memory of his late parents—Mayadhar Barik, noted freedom fighter and social activist, and Nidrabati Barik, renowned woman social activist and philanthropist—the Foundation is committed to extending free health services to rural communities.

Over a hundred patients received medical consultations, prescriptions, and medicines during the camp. Following the health camp, valuable tree plantations were carried out in the village, promoting environmental awareness.

The event, marked by active participation from doctors, environmentalists, journalists, and local dignitaries, was smoothly coordinated by activists Mrs. Nirmala Barik, Mrs. Tapaswini Barik, Mr. Basanta Barik, and Mr. Jyotiranjan Barik.
