Bhubaneswar, December 17, 2025: Odisha is set to host the Odisha AI Summit 2025 in Bhubaneswar on December 19 and 20, positioning the State as an emerging leader in India’s artificial intelligence ecosystem. The State Government on Tuesday held the Curtain Raiser for the flagship event, outlining a people-focused and inclusive roadmap for AI-led governance and development.
Organised by the Electronics & Information Technology Department, Government of Odisha, the Summit will act as an official precursor to the India AI Impact Summit 2026, aligning closely with India’s national AI mission and global engagement goals.
At the core of the Summit’s vision are the “Three Sutras” — People, Planet and Progress. These guiding principles emphasise that AI must serve people with dignity and inclusion, support environmental sustainability and climate resilience, and ensure equitable access to technology across sectors such as healthcare, education, agriculture and governance.
To turn this vision into action, the Summit will focus on the “Seven Chakras”, the key areas for cooperation and implementation. These include building skilled human capital, promoting social inclusion and reducing bias, ensuring safe and trusted AI through strong governance, encouraging innovation and efficiency, supporting responsible AI research, democratising access to data and computing resources, and using AI for economic development and social good.
The Curtain Raiser also highlighted Odisha’s growing AI roadmap and the recently approved Odisha AI Policy 2025, which aims to create a responsible and future-ready framework for AI adoption, innovation and capacity building.
Over two days, the Summit will showcase real-world AI applications in healthcare, education, agriculture and governance, while providing a national platform for discussions on AI-led governance, data infrastructure, research and inclusive growth. Policymakers, industry leaders, researchers and technology experts from India and abroad are expected to participate.
Speaking at the event, Electronics and IT Minister Mukesh Mahaling said Odisha is taking a future-ready approach to technology-driven growth. He added that the State is building an investor-friendly ecosystem for large-scale AI adoption, supported by strong digital governance and long-term policy certainty.
Principal Secretary, Electronics & IT, Vishal Dev said the Summit is focused on demonstrating real progress. He noted that AI is already being integrated into core government functions and priority sectors, supported by continuous capacity building and institutional readiness.
The Odisha AI Summit 2025 is expected to formalise key partnerships, showcase progress in priority areas and build long-term momentum through collaboration among government, industry, academia and research institutions—signalling Odisha’s ambition to play a leading role in India’s ethical, inclusive and impact-driven AI journey.
